Tasks

• Understand customers' technical needs and proactively remove barriers to quantum computing adoption, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention.
• Develop deep expertise in our quantum computing and AI hardware and software to help customers optimize performance and maximize value.
• Represent QuantumBasel in customer engagements and industry events.
• Collaborate with internal quantum and AI team.
• Clearly articulate the business value and long-term impact of quantum computing solutions for customers. Develop strategies to drive and close strategic opportunities, leveraging internal and external resources to cross-sell and up-sell.
• Identify and develop new client leads for quantum computing and AI solutions, expanding our market reach.
• Craft tailored value propositions that resonate across various industries, demonstrating the transformative potential of quantum computing.
• Guide customers through the full sales cycle, from initial engagement to deal closure and delivery, crafting tailored proposals, negotiating contracts, and securing commitments by demonstrating clear business value and technical fit.

• A STEM Master’s degree and a passion for innovation.
• Outstanding technical and executive presentation skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire audiences at all levels regardless of their quantum computing expertise.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex technical concepts in a clear, compelling, and tailored manner to diverse audiences and customer needs.
• Fluency in English and German (mandatory).

• Demonstrated success in tech sales, with a proven ability to cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships, driving engagement and adoption.
• Hands-on expertise in Python (or similar coding languages) and quantum computing frameworks such as Qiskit, PennyLane, or similar SDKs or broader software development, enabling effective technical discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

As an Optimization Engineer at QuantumBasel, you will be working on cutting-edge optimization problems as an integreal part of our AI and quantum teams. You will be (hands-on) exploring different applications at the intersection of data science, AI, and quantum computing, progressing industrial solutions.

• Develop and apply classical and quantum optimization algorithms, including quantum annealing and quantum-inspired methods
• Translate business requirements to mathematical formulations

• Master in physics, mathematics, operations research, or a quantitative STEM-related field

As a Quantum Algorithms Researcher at QuantumBasel, you will be working closely with the other members of the quantum team as well as our AI team. You will be (hands-on) exploring different applications at the intersection of quantum computing and data science, progressing both industrial solutions and academic research. This includes work associated with the Center for Quantum Computing and Quantum Coherence (QC2), University of Basel.
