We are looking for a hands-on data scientist with 1-3 years of experience to fine-tune large language models (LLMs) and develop agent-based workflows. You will work on building cutting-edge AI solutions that can scale to production environments.

Tasks
  • Fine-tune and optimize pre-trained LLMs (e.g., GPT, LLaMA) for business-specific use cases.
  • Develop agent workflows to enable intelligent automation and decision-making.
  • Prepare and manage datasets for model training and fine-tuning.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve model performance continuously.
  • Document methodologies to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.

Preferred Qualifications

We expect you to bring

  • Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face).
  • Experience fine-tuning LLMs using techniques like LoRA, RLHF, or adapters.
  • Strong understanding of NLP concepts and transformer architectures.
  • Ability to design workflows integrating APIs and pipelines.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and basic cloud/MLOps tools (e.g., Docker, MLFlow).
  • Comfort with writing, documenting and using APIs.
  • Fluency in English and German (mandatory).

  • Experience with generative AI applications and deploying models in production.

QuantumBasel works with organizations across industries, including logistics, manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences, financial services, and energy.

As an Optimization Engineer at QuantumBasel, you will be working on cutting-edge optimization problems as an integreal part of our AI and quantum teams. You will be (hands-on) exploring different applications at the intersection of data science, AI, and quantum computing, progressing industrial solutions.

Tasks
  • Develop and apply classical and quantum optimization algorithms, including quantum annealing and quantum-inspired methods
  • Translate business requirements to mathematical formulations
  • Solve optimization use cases for customers by applying optimization algorithms

  • Implement quantum- and AI-based applications
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in quantum and AI technologies

This includes work associated with the Center for Quantum Computing and Quantum Coherence (QC2), University of Basel.
