Thomi Jourdan
On July 1, 2023, Thomi Jourdan assumed his position as Government Councillor and Head of the Department of Economic Affairs and Health. On February 12, 2023, he was elected to the government by the population of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland.
From 2008 to 2023, he served as a Municipal Councilor in Muttenz, where he was responsible for central development and construction projects. These included initiatives such as the Polyfeld Muttenz, Hagnau, the development of the unique 70,000 square meter recreational area Schänzli, the cultural center “Mittenza für Muttenz”, and the region’s first wind turbine.
Between 2000 and 2008, he was a member of the Basel-Landschaft Cantonal Council, where he actively participated in the Finance Commission. Prior to that, he gained his initial political experience as a member of the municipal Social and Health Commission.
