Arlesheim, Switzerland, 18th September 2024 – QuantumBasel, the center of competence for quantum computing and AI, will host the Quantum Industry Day on September 23, 2024 at uptownBasel, the international competence center for Industry 4.0 in Arlesheim, near Basel. This event aims to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial development, accelerating the growth of quantum technology products and solutions for real-world applications.

The organizing team consisting of IDQ, IBM Research, NCCR Spin, Euresearch, CSEM, Zurich Instruments, Quantum Center ETH Zurich, Innosuisse, and Enterprise Europe Network, in partnership with EPFL, Swissmem, and the Swiss Quantum Initiative, has selected QuantumBasel at uptownBasel as the hosts for this year's Quantum Industry Day in Switzerland. The day will feature inspiring keynotes, expert panel discussions and valuable networking opportunities, bringing together leading minds from academia and industry. With more than 400 registered attendees, it will be one of the year’s biggest event of the Swiss Quantum industry.

The event offers exclusive networking opportunities with top quantum experts and industry pioneers, fostering collaboration and career development. The Quantum Industry Day will cover several key topics, including the upcoming United Nations’ International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025, applications of quantum computing, advancements in quantum instrumentation and quantum communication, strategies for migrating to quantum-safe security, the growing role of quantum sensors, and guidance on building a career in quantum technology.

About uptownBasel
uptownBasel is an international competence center for Industry 4.0 - globally networked, anchored in Europe and rooted in Basel. On the historic Schorenareal in Arlesheim near Basel, a development and production site for technology companies and other organizations is being created on around 70,000 square metres. The focus is on the areas of industrial production, healthcare and logistics as well as the cross-sectional function of digitalization.
